To those who might take it literally (and you’d be surprised at how many such people there are out there) they might spray this on and call it a day. Tatcha calls this a “mist moisturizer” that I find a little odd. For the price tag, it better be more than that! Is it just another spray bottle of water? You may wonder. I bided my time, until quite recently, a friend happened to be in Singapore, happened to end up with a spare bottle of the Tatcha Luminous Dewy Skin Mist, and so happened to remember that I wanted to try it! The stars were aligned! □ What is so unique about the Tatcha Luminous Dewy Skin Mist? So, our next best option is to buy from the Tatcha online store, where shipping is astronomical. While it is sold in Sephora Singapore, it isn’t available here just yet. Unfortunately for us here in Malaysia, it is next to impossible to get hold of Tatcha in stores. It is one of the best face mists she’s ever used, keeping her skin well hydrated and comfortable in winter with its low humidity, and plumped up in hot hot summers. I would save these for special occasions or emergency fixes. At almost $24 a piece, this is even more expensive than SK-II Facial Treatment Masks, which can really add up if you use sheet masks 2-3 times a week like I do. The results also lasted a day or two, which was much longer than my other sheet masks. My face glowed and felt so supple and soft like I had just gotten a facial. The thicker gel-like formula was also non-drippy, slightly cooling and so refreshing the 15 minutes flew by like a dream. Once the mask was on, it grabbed onto my face like second skin and felt like nothing at all. Unlike most of the regular paper or cloth masks on the market, this is a coconut-derived biocellulose that felt sort of plastic-y but with a fit that completely blew me away. Second, the material itself was different. First, there is a layer of mesh surrounding the mask on each side, one that you peel off before you apply the mask and one that you peel after the mask is on. I have been using sheet masks ever since I was 15 and this was nothing like what I have used in the past. The Luminous Deep Hydration Lifting Mask ($95 for 4) is a sheet mask saturated with similar ingredients in a higher concentration and promises to give you smoother, more luminous skin in just 15 minutes. I take this with me everywhere I go so I can use it throughout the day for a quick pick-me-up and to set foundation. With just 2-3 spritzes, my skin looked soft and dewy with zero shine. Formulated with Squalane, Red Algae Extract, Liquid Silk, Camellia Oil and potent moisturizing actives, it has a milky color and leaves behind a slightly heavier, almost serum-like finish. TATCHA Luminous Dewy Skin Mist ($48) is a hydrating mist that comes in a gorgeous purple glass bottle. To keep my dehydrated combo skin in top condition for Fall and ready for Winter, I have been adding TATCHA Water Collection to my regimen for an extra boost of moisture.
